Foot and Ankle Mechanics
Your foot pronates and supinates in order to transfer weight from one foot to the other. These are three-dimensional motions that involve many small bones and joints.
These movements are cued as you walk and transfer your center of gravity from your heel to mid-foot and finally to your big toe. Proper shoe wear, pelvis/trunk positioning, and hip mobility will affect how you transfer weight through your ankle and foot.
We evaluate your movements, look at your foot shape and your shoes, provide you with corrective exercise strategies, and possible shoe recommendations to help your transfer weight better.
